What I've Gotten from "I Am"

I recently watched a sermon from the series - I am, by the Village Church. The first sermon of this series was preached by Matt Chandler. I've watched a few of his teachings on The Explicit Gospel in my discipleship group and I find myself understanding more and more about the Gospel through his teachings.

I thought I'd jot down a couple of points I've gotten from this morning. He referred his teaching to John 4. It was a rather eye opening sermon for me as he thoroughly explained why did Jesus engage with the Samaritan Woman. He started off with a good illustration, enabling me to understand where he was coming from.
  • Do we have an impersonal OR personal relationship with Jesus?
  • We should see who Jesus for who He is, not just what he has done.
  • What does it mean that Jesus is the bread of life, the light of the world, the door etc.
  • Why is He even engaging with her? It is because Jesus is the Saviour of the world.
  • The Samaritan woman felt ashamed because she had five husbands, that was why she only came out later in the day to get water.
  • We tend to hide our struggles, we think Jesus doesn't already know, when clearly He does know everything about us! WE HAVE NO SECRETS FROM GOD. With these struggles, it is in the touch of Christ that is healed!
  • The Samaritan woman went around boldly telling people that she has heard from Christ, even though she was ashamed by her past. (This really shocked me because the woman who was so ashamed by her actions, maybe even had people talked about her behind her back, still went ahead with so much courage telling everyone what she had just seen and heard!!)
Jesus is the solution to all our problems, we just have to turn to Him and not hide away.

Cheers! :)

My New Baby

On Valentines Day, I got a camera that I have always wanted ever since I was twelve.

I was reading an old blog post of mine the other day and there was one post which I specifically blogged about my love for DSLR's. So, here I am, blogging about how I have finally invested on my very own DSLR after seven years :) Speaking of investing, I have never actually spent my savings on anything haha. I guess I just broke that streak!

I apologise if the photos aren't that nice! I'm still figuring out on how to operate the features and all :) However, I thought it would be nice to post some pictures I captured with this baby just so that I can look back on this in the future with a wide smile.

Anyway, if any of you are a DSLR user, would greatly appreciate if you could share with me some tips at the comments section! I'm still a newbie at this because all my life, I have only owned compact cameras which are pretty basic and easy to operate. Would love to learn a thing or two from you guys!!

Cheers! :)

January Photo Diary

Since it's the end of the month, I thought it would be a good idea for me to wrap up what has happened! Extremely thankful to God for all that has happened. So, here is a new series that I would like to start on my blog, just so that I can recall on the events that happened in that specific month :) Also, a little touch of gratefulness is what I need to keep me going! Welcome to my very first photo diary.

Here's a random picture of Tim and I when we were waiting for my brother to finish his haircut
 SUKI-YA + MEEPLES

We had on outing with a few other friends at Suki-Ya (my favorite place of all time) & Meeples. Suki-Ya is basically a Japanese steamboat buffet that would cost you RM 34. For that amount of money, you get to enjoy free flow of lamb, beef, chicken, meatballs, vegetables, ICE CREAM etc. Caps locked the ice cream because who doesn't love ice cream right?! We technically spammed the meat because meat is life (;

Meeples, on the other hand, is a board game cafe which requires you to pay RM 6 an hour. You can of course play for how many hours you like. For RM 6, you get to play ANY kind of board games they have on their shelves for 60 whole minutes. I would highly recommend this place for a big group because you get to bond a lot through these board games that would give you an adrenaline rush!! I really enjoyed myself playing games that needed fast reflexes and good sabotaging skills!

Didn't get a picture with the rest though *cries*

Suki-Ya - Paradigm, Pavilion, Da Men
Meeples Address - 64-2 Jalan SS 15/4D, 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia

ACCESSORIES

I apologize for my ugly nails lol
I'm actually pretty upset, wait no, VERY VERY upset that Lovisa ended their mega sale! They still have a tiny section which sold very few items at a discounted price though, but that still doesn't count :( However, I managed to buy a few accessories at a discounted price! So glad that they were sold at a decent price, if they weren't, I wouldn't even bother leaving the store with anything because everything is just too overpriced!

UOKATSU

Salt Grilled Sanma - RM 10

On the left : Mentai Rice - RM 18 each
On the right : Sashimi Ocean Trout - RM 18

Black Sesame Ice Cream - RM 9

Uokatsu may be a mainstream Instagram worthy Japanese restaurant, but I'll definitely come back another time. There are just too many choices on the menu that I need to try! Mentai rice isn't served at many Japanese restaurants, so this place is a must try for all you Japanese lovers out there :) The black sesame ice cream was very rich in flavour, but I wouldn't order it again the next time. The place is located at an odd location, so if you can, try to go with a friend who has been there before!

Address : B-0-7, Ground Floor Plaza Damas 3, 63 Jalan Sri Hartamas1, Sri Hartamas, 50480 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

HONEY CREME

Comb Honey - RM 12.50
Original - RM 9.50

The ever so famous Honey Creme has finally stepped foot into Malaysia! I didn't get to try it when it first opened in Hartamas, so I figured why not just try the one that opened recently in Kota Kemuning. I would say Honey Creme is definitely better than Milkcow. To prove my point, I had Milkcow 3 days back and it wasn't as milky as the one they serve in Honey Creme. I suggest that you should try this place at least once, that is if you like soft serve ice cream :) If you're not a fan of ice cream, don't bother wasting 13 ringgit on this.

Address : Jalan Anggerik Vanilla 31/BF, Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam 40460
What would I do without these two weird fellas? :')
So, this is the end of my January photo diary! Ending this post with a picture with one of my favourite person ever :) So happy that I manage to see Nicole at a family reunion. We didn't know we were going to be there that night so we were pretty shocked to see each other!! Long story short, we have mutual relatives but we're not related by blood. I still consider her as my long lost sister though <3 Love you to the moon and back, Nic!

Cheers! :)

Coffee & Cake

Ben & I decided to visit Huckleberry Food & Fare last week. I've heard good reviews about this place but I didn't manage to try their pastries as I was quite full from lunch. So, the both of us settled for some coffee and cake. Ben was exhausted so he decided to go for an iced espresso (he was still sleepy after the coffee though). I ordered a hot mocha, as you can see, the coffee art was rather disappointing. I've had better coffee in my opinion :)

We would not come back to visit this place because Ben had food poisoning the next day... We're still trying to figure out whether it was the coconut lime cake that caused him to have an upset tummy :(

Here are some pictures for you to look at! I apologise for the grainy quality... I have no idea how to work Photoshop.

Cheers! :)

Bangkok 2015

I went on a short getaway to Bangkok with my family and it was our very first time spending Christmas away from home. Nonetheless, we had a very good time bonding with one another. Here are a few of the many shots I managed to get while I was there! Hope you enjoy :)

I also made a vlog just so I could recall the memories that were created there! Would love for you to check it out :)

Cheers! :)

20 Fifteen

Twenty fifteen, thank you.

It's been a year filled with ups and downs. There were good times where I felt everything was perfect, then there were also horrible moments where I was crumbled into pieces. Through the storms and trials, I've learnt & grew so much. I've learnt that people come and go. And I'm totally alright with that.

I expect nothing for 2016. I guess I was a little disappointed in 2015 because I pictured it to be an amazing year without any frustrations. I was so wrong.

Twenty sixteen, welcome.

I'm so eager to see what God has in store for me this coming year. I'm yet to discover new things and I'm excited for that. I hope you have blessed new year and if you're going through something that is driving you nuts, I advise you to take a moment to sit back, reflect and ask God for comfort and patience. You'll get through, trust me. It's just a matter of time.

Cheers! :)
