A Self Reminder

"Hoping 2016 would be a rather surprising year :)"

This was a tweet from 23rd of January that I pinned to personally remind myself to be prepared for what 2016 has in store of me. I'm not going to lie but I was pretty bummed out by the start of 2016 and I instantly thought that 2016 was going to be a terrible one. It's July now and I can safely say that the year is finally starting to get a little better for me. Everything is slowly coming together and I can only thank God for that. Seriously, if it weren't for my "Big Guy" up there, I'll probably be torn into pieces right now. I recently received my results two days ago and I am still in total shock with it. To be completely honest, they were far from my expectations. While preparing for finals, I was very doubtful of myself because I somehow had a strong feeling inside me that I wasn't able to maintain my scholarship. Judging by my chaotic preparation, I knew I had absolutely no chance of keeping it and I was sort of prepared to face the music on the 11th of July.

But, God told me otherwise. He told me to let go and let Him be in control of my situation. And I did exactly that. I've been pretty busy with a lot on my plate and dealing with so much emotions lately... You know the feeling when you're just so overwhelmed by everything that is happening around you and you have zero idea of what to do?? Yeap, that was exactly how I felt these past few months. By the grace of God, I managed to survive and I am still in one piece! I'm just very thankful for all that He has been doing in my life. He certainly blessed me with richly with friends that I can go to whenever I felt like a mess and that's something that I hold closely to my heart.

I really don't know where am I going with this post but I think I just want to remind you that if you're going through a rough situation, it's okay to bawl your eyes out and be a total emotional wreck about it. It's okay to cry for days, weeks, or even months. I've been there and done that. But, let me tell you something, you can't stay like this forever. It's not healthy and you need a solution. Personally, God is my solution and I've learnt that it is so important to turn to Him first, and not man. Man are sinful and they do disappoint sometimes. But God on the other hand doesn't. He satisfies us, He alone is enough for us and we shall not want more. Jesus died for our sins and what more can we do but to glorify His name. God's unconditional love is the greatest gift of all and I'm so glad that I'm loved by my almighty Father.

Love,
Char.

Kuala Lumpur

I had the privilege to follow a friend around KL last week as he and another friend of his needed to film something. I really enjoyed being a tourist in my own city and it was good to take my mind off some stuffs for a moment! Despite the many hours of walking around continuously under the scorching weather, it was so eye opening to just be in awe of... everything. Buildings that still existed after many decades, new buildings, abandoned buildings, cars speeding away like crazy, LRT's and monorails that were packed with a sea of people, street vendors, graffiti... All these things may seem trivial, but I get so amazed each time I step into the city. The one thing that I personally really enjoy while travelling in KL is being in the LRT. You tend to observe the people around you and I take joy in that (I am not a stalker in any way, shape or form hehe).

KL, you are beautiful and I need to discover more of you.

Love,
Char.

Bus Rides

Just got back from my church youth camp a couple days ago and I'm still processing a lot of thoughts. Will share on this space very soon!

I also managed to capture a few shots on the bus while we were on the way back so here they are! Bus rides will always bring endless laughter to everyone and I very much find joy in that.

Love,
Char.

Of Savoury & Sweet

Finally had a proper catch up session with this very precious girl. We planned an impromptu sleepover and I must say, last minute plans will always turn out to be the best ones yet. Thank you for today, Tracey! I appreciate you very much hehe.

Love,
Char.

Serene

Taken at one of the jetties overseeing the not-so-clear waters in Penang

Here is a throwback photo that I really like. Just by looking at this photo brings back the exact same tranquil feeling I had when I was physically there.

Cheers! :)

The Best Friend

My first semester in Uni just ended and I am so excited for the long awaited one month break. The never ending tests, assignments, more tests, and even more assignments have been draining all the energy out of me. I remember mentioning to my co-workers at the beginning of the year that I was very much looking forward to start Uni. Boy, was I so wrong!! So, that pretty much explains why I haven't been writing much in this space.

I remember this time last year, I posted an entry about Allison. So here I am, presenting to you yet again another post about her! This time, I'll let the photos do most of the talking. There's just something about being behind the camera and I am much more comfortable with taking photographs of my friends, especially when they need help with their "OOTD's". I am usually quite an awkward person when it comes to being in front of the camera alone, so that's probably why most of the shots of myself always turn out so bad and I will never be satisfied with them.

Here are a few of the many shots that I managed to get of her today! I think Allison has a really beautiful smile and I am so proud to have her as my best friend. Always supporting you in everything that you pursue in life, Allie-bunny! Please don't mind us, we have this really weird habit of calling each other cute names hehe.
