19 Things

I recently turned nineteen in June and here are nineteen reminders which I would want to look back at in the near future.

1. It's totally fine to start off the year on a rocky path even though you thought that this was going to be YOUR year, but turns out everything wasn't going as planned.

2. It's absolutely normal to be emotional over the most trivial matters, crying in the middle of the night wishing things would to go back to normal.

3. Being alone is satisfying. It's nice being away from the noise sometimes to reflect on different situations that you've encountered throughout the many months.

4. It's okay to go through hurt because that's only going to make you a whole lot better person than you were before.

5. Things are bound to change and you've got to accept it with boldness.

6. Muster up all the courage you have and face it like a strong and independent person.

7. Open communication between one another is vital.

8. When there is a lack of it, things tend to fall apart and you can't possibly turn back time wishing everything would go back to square one.

9. Happiness & being content with yourself is the ultimate key to beauty and confidence.

10. When change has happened, tell yourself that it is all for the better. People will disappoint you sometimes and that's because we are all sinful beings.

11. Accept it no matter how difficult it is and all you can do is to just have faith in God's amazing & unfailing plans.

12. New people enter into your life and you will be able to learn so much from them.

13. You become a stronger individual and it is all because of their constant love, care and support.

14. Be grateful for all of your loved ones who have been supporting you since day one.

15. Learn to take in ONLY constructive criticism. Only accept inputs that would help improve you as an individual in the future, chuck the useless ones away.

16. There will be times when you can't please everyone and that's fine. Focus on yourself and be very sensitive to God's voice.

17. Humans can't predict the future so the best thing that we can all do is to live in the present and try not to worry too much about the future. God has our backs.

18. With that being said, you would still have to plan for your future and list down personal goals that you would want to achieve.

19. Say 'thank you' whenever it's necessary because that simple gesture brightens up one's day very much.

Char.

MBC Race

Some of my favourite shots from today's amazing race hosted by the club I've been joining for two semesters, Monash Business Club (MBC)!

Just a heads up, but if you're reading this, I've been lacking of posts lately as my finals are nearing. And let me tell you something, I have a total of four back to back papers and that is just too insane... The stress is real!

Unwind

It has been pretty stressful for me at this point of time but I'm glad to have a day off today to unwind at Tanjung Sepat. Thus, the title of this post. Unwind from the busyness to just enjoy nature, really good food, and quality time with my family. I picked up something from today's trip. I actually love taking photographs of strangers :)

Singapore

I had the opportunity to fly to Singapore for the weekend a couple of weeks back. There was a conference, Finance Asean, that was hosted by Asean Young Professionals and my friend invited me to join it a month back. The conference had so many good speakers from various top companies. I thought why not give it a shot since it would be a good experience, right?  And besides, it has been awhile since I've last visited Singapore!

The highlight of my trip was discovering this beautiful city until very late at night for two consecutive days. I was so amazed by what Singapore had to offer. They had a night festival that was going on when we arrived on the first night. We chucked our bags on the floor after we checked in and left the hostel straight away to walk the streets. There were food stalls that sold overpriced food, bands jamming out to their favourite metal music (which I personally am not a big fan of), a 24 hour museum, light shows, gorgeous decorations, and basically, beautiful people. One thing that we can all agree about Singapore is their top-notch public transportation- the MRT. I was so impressed by how safe this country is!

Marina Bay Sands, you are way more beautiful than I imagined you to be. So glad that I was finally able to finally see this beauty with my own eyes. It was really special.

Clarke Quay, you hold a special place in my heart :)

All in all, I enjoyed this trip a whole lot. Singapore, you definitely surpassed my expectations.

Char.
